Deceased Name: Stanley Kaner

 

SPRINGFIELD Stanley Kaner, 84, an employee of Combustion Engineering in Windsor, Conn., for nine years and General Electric Corp. for five years, died Wednesday at Holyoke Hospital. Born in Worcester, he lived in Enfield and was a resident of this city most of his life. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a private first class with the 156th Field Artillery Battalion of the 44th Infantry Division in the European Theater. He received an American Defense Theater ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern theater ribbon with three bronze stars and an overseas service bar with service stripe. He participated in the Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns in 1944-45. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Cathedral, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 70 and a member of American Legion Post 430. He also belonged to the Lions Club and the Golden Agers. The funeral will be Saturday morning at Forastiere Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
